I became a Dot in December 2015. At the time, my main reason for joining was to build my business and connect with other women in business. What I found pretty quickly was that the support I was really looking for went beyond business referrals. I wanted women who understood what it was like to build a business... women who could be a sounding board, celebrate the good times with me and lift me up when things were hard. Those relationships became one of the things I valued most about being a Dot. I started serving in chapter leadership almost from the beginning and stayed involved over the years. I was part of chapters that were about 30 minutes from home, and it wasn't until after COVID that I started thinking... maybe I need to build a chapter closer to me. That idea eventually became the Prairie View Chapter, which I launched in 2024 and where I now serve as Managing Director. Outside of Polka Dot, I am a mom to two adult children and have been married to my husband for almost 25 years. He is also an entrepreneur and has owned his electrical contracting company for more than 20 years, so we definitely understand the ups and downs of building a business! I love to travel... a lot. When I'm home, I enjoy gardening, camping, walking and hiking. We have two dogs and a cat who keep things interesting. I joined Polka Dot because I wanted to grow my business. I stayed because of the relationships... and ultimately, those relationships are what inspired me to create the Prairie View Chapter.
